Furnishings Management Branch (FMB) Information

Eligibility for Government Furnishings: 

Eligible DOD Military and civilian personnel are authorized an issue of government furniture and appliances in accordance with JFTR weight authorizations.  Personnel in the below categories are eligible for government furnishings support as follows:

  • Command-sponsored military personnel and their legal family members who are on the sponsor’s PCS orders and traveled to Korea are authorized 50% of their JFTR weight allowance and will be issued appliances and temporary loaner furniture for 90 days while waiting for their household goods.

 

  •  DOD civilian personnel and their legal family members who are on the sponsor’s PCS orders and traveled to Korea and are eligible to receive Living Quarters Allowance (LQA). DOD civilians are authorized their full JFTR weigh allowance of 18,000 lbs and will only be issued appliances for the duration of the tour and temporary loaner furniture for 90 days while waiting for their household goods. 
  • Service members serving an Unaccompanied tour and are authorized 25% of their JFTR weight allowance residing in government-controlled SSH or who have a certificate of non-availability (CNA) to reside in private rental housing will be issued government furniture and appliances for the duration of their tour.

 Non-Eligibility for Government Furnishings.

  • Retirees have no entitlements for government furnishings and appliance support.

    Contractor personnel have no entitlements to government furnishings and appliance support.
  • Local Hire personnel have no entitlements to government furnishings and appliance support.
  • Furnishings and appliance support is not authorized for privately-owned housing.
