Lieutenant Colonel Steven G. Finley received his commission as a distinguish military graduate of the Army Officer Candidate School, Fort Benning, Georgia in 1992 after serving five years as an enlisted soldier. Since then he has had the privilege of serving in a variety of command and staff positions with both the Combat Arms and Military Intelligence career fields to include Fire Support Officer, Brigade Targeting Officer, Battalion S-2, Operations Officer for an Aerial Exploitation Unit, Company Commander for a Signals Intelligence battalion, Collections Team Chief at the National Security Agency, Battalion S3 Officer, All source Analysis Chief for the Information Dominance Center USFK, Current Operations and Target Development Team Chief USCENTCOM, Operations Officer Terrorism Analysis Branch and recently the Chief of Analysis for the Joint Intelligence Center Central, Headquarters, United States Central Command.
Lieutenant Colonel Finley's assignments include 7th Infantry Division Light, 82d Airborne Division, multiple tours to Republic of Korea with the 501st Military Intelligence Brigade, 704th Military Intelligence Brigade, tours with the National Security Agency, and finally the Joint Intelligence Center Central, United States Central Command. These assignments included leadership positions within the Artillery career field, Military Intelligence career field, Strategic Intelligence at the National level, and functional intelligence-- strategic through tactical in direct support to combat operations for Operations ENDURING FREEDOM, IRAQI FREEDOM, Global War on Terror and NEW DAWN.
Lieutenant Colonel Finley's military education consists of the Artillery Officer Basic Course, Jumpmaster course, Intelligence Officers Transition and Advance Course, Junior Officer Cryptologic Career Program, the Army's Command and General Staff College, Joint Forces Staff College, and the Army Management Staff College.
Lieutenant Colonel Finley earned a Bachelor's degree from the University of the South, Sewanee, Tennessee and a Masters degree in Information Resource Management from Central Michigan University.
